ITV Programme

Fun-key-doors-

This programme will be broadcasted on ITV between the times 7-9pm. We chose this time because it is suitable for families to watch and isn't too late. We also chose this because this is known as the 'prime time' where most people will be watching TV after work or school.

The idea of the show is to have 4 doors with tasks on each one for the celebrities to complete and the aim is to try and complete all doors to win £100,000 for their chosen charity.

The target audience for this programme is for families to sit down and watch it together or anyone from the ages of 11-50.

The aim of the show is mainly to entertain and engage the audience.

In my group we also chose to do something interactive where the audience of the show can interact with the show and get involved. We aim to let the audience vote from a number of tasks which one they prefer to see and which ever tasks get the most votes will be the next weeks tasks for the celebrities to complete. This is useful because it makes the audience feel like they are part of the show.

Class Presentation Feedback

FEEDBACK

WWW: good presentation, well presented and explained. Also, the information in the presentation is all correct.
Good research on key information

EBI: the handout sheet was too plain and needed to have more information or tasks for the class.
Also give more credit for students who answer the question.

Feedback

Collage Feedback
  • Bright colours came across immediately for contrapuntal collage- works really well in contrast to the song.
  • images of police are very interesting- is that parallel?
  • does the fast car fit the contrapuntal presentation? However your explanation is very good
  • Emphasis on family is interesting - is that not a link with hip hop culture? or is it merely a white family not fitting?

Lighting

Lighting-

The lighting on this image is very abstract because you can see that the lighting is just based on this characters face which concentrates straight at her makes the audience get familiar with her. The lighting is also pointed at the smoke from the cigarette which creates an effect because it can connote that this women is a criminal or does some kind of harm I can infer this because the way she causes harm to her own body may suggests she causes even more harm to others because if she's willing to put her body in danger she's more than willing to injure or kill someone else. The lighting directed at the smoke creates the mysterious effect that you get in horror movies this may tell the audience that this is a very mysterious or secretive character. Only by the lighting we are able to figure out this womans personality.

This image is an example of low key lighting where the light is coming from underneath her face this is very effective because it makes the audience make assumptions or judgements about the character or story line.

This still image they use high key and top lighting to create an effect of superiority for this character which lets the audience make judgements on this character and what they think his personnel is like.

This still image is a prime example of lowkey lighting with shadows that cover this characters face which may suggest to the audience the idea of secretiveness or an assumption made by the audience that this character is two faced or has two sides to him that the audience are yet to find out.

This image is an example of high key lighting to show the audience her face clearly so the audience can then identify her facial expressions and emotions through this still image.

This image is an example of low key lighting as you can see the contrast between shadow and light in the characters faces this is effective because it puts an idea of unpredictability across to the audience.

This still image is an example of main lighting from behind the characters which creates a shadow of the characters without seeing their faces this puts across an image of superiority and builds up tension.

This image shows low key lighting of this character and this creates a shadow on the wall in the background which is very effective in lighting.

This image shows low key lighting of this character which is effective as it may show fearfulness to the audience this may also let the audience create a judgement of what they think this character is like I.e weak.

Own Advert Analysis

Nike-

This advert instantly caught my eye because of the big bold stereotypical quote on the image that says "One more thing for men to rule" This immediately tells the audience that men are better than women and more physically able than women. This would definitely attract feminist and would get them going because this stereotypical statement could be seen as sexist.
The zoomed image of the man in the advert without any surroundings or anything to look at other than him makes the audience concentrate more on him. This suggests to the audience that sport and physical events are very male dominated.
The lighting in the background of the luminous neon colours just makes the image of the man stand out more because it highlights around his body which instantly adds effect. This puts across the idea of superiority. This makes men feel powerful and decreases the females power enormously.

50 Cent Reebook

50 Cent Advert-

This advert from Reebok staring 50 cent on the front cover of this commercial definitely raises many comments and questions. The fact that there are finger prints on the background of this advert may suggest that 50 Cent is who he is and can't change his identity because a finger print is a feature of your body that you can't erase or change. This also raises stereotypical questions that Reebok may suggesting the stereotype of black people being criminals the fingerprints may suggest prison or a crime of some sort so this advert may actually be promoting bad behaviour.

50 Cent's face instantly shows seriousness and may be suggesting and reinforcing the seriousness of this topic. The quote beside this image also compliments the image because it matches the seriousness of this issue and promotes motivation by Reebok. The use of the celebrity endorsement in this advert immediately attracts 50 Cent fans because some may think if they dress like him they may be like him or have his mentality. The image of 50 Cent on the left of this advert is blacked out and only shows 50 Cent's face this concentrates on his facial expressions and doesn't let his surroundings distract you and has all eyes on this celebrity as soon as you lay eyes on this commercial which highlights the celebrity endorsement by Reebok.

The way the image is structure is very intelligent because you have the celebrity endorsement which in this case is 50 Cent looking straight at the camera which makes it look as if he's looking at the audience. This is effective because it makes you feel as if he's looking at you personally this is called 'Direct Address' this is a good technique because it makes the audience feel special because it is directed straight at them.

Overall, this advert raises comments but on the other hand is also a very effective advert that probably delivers this company many customers. However, this commercial may also raise stereotype comments of black people being criminals and creating crimes and being up to mischievous behaviour.
