The lighting on this image is very abstract because you can see that the lighting is just based on this characters face which concentrates straight at her makes the audience get familiar with her. The lighting is also pointed at the smoke from the cigarette which creates an effect because it can connote that this women is a criminal or does some kind of harm I can infer this because the way she causes harm to her own body may suggests she causes even more harm to others because if she's willing to put her body in danger she's more than willing to injure or kill someone else. The lighting directed at the smoke creates the mysterious effect that you get in horror movies this may tell the audience that this is a very mysterious or secretive character. Only by the lighting we are able to figure out this womans personality.
